Caution: Bounding Bassett

In honor of the first flakes of the season, I offer up a picture of Buttercup of the North dashing through the snow (Snow from last year, that is. We've only got a dusting). How often to you get to see a Bassett Hound run, let alone run through snow?

The V-I-B-I-L has spent the last 18 months in LA and Santa Barbara counties. After having spent time in Cleveland, Chicago, and NYC....I'm very happy without "real seasons".

Want snow?...it's only a few hours away. Just head to the mountains. Even Death Valley Nat'l. Park has snow by this time of the year (in the Panamint range on the west sideof the valley).

In the mean time, I find SoCal drivers bad enough on dry pavement that the occasional rainstorm terrifies my and the thought of a snowstorm on the 405 is leaves absolutely mortified.

First time visitor here ... I found you, not that you were lost or anything, through Celtic Lady's Rants.
Your call name (village idiot) is far and away one of the top five funniest I've ever seen on a blog.
I'm having a ball flipping through your 'pages' here ... great job!

Buttercup is a fine canine specimen; I love the action picture!

Keep up the awesome blog ...
